AI-DLDA 2020 is the third edition of the International Summer School on Artificial Intelligence that takes place in Udine, Italy. It is addressed to young researchers, Ph.D. students and industry practitioners with the main aim of updating participants about the most recent advances in the area of Artificial Intelligence, ranging from deep learning to data analytics.
This school will give an in-depth analysis of the state-of-the-art research and will cover a large spectrum of current research activities and industrial applications deal with big data, computer vision, human-computer interaction, biomedical informatics, deep learning, and serious games.
Master’s students, Ph.D. students, researchers, and industry practitioners will be the ideal profiles of participants. However, there are no formal pre-requisites for attendance in terms of academic degrees. The selected participants will benefit from direct interaction with world leaders in AI.
WHEN AND WHERE:
The AI-DLDA 2020 School starts on Monday, June 29, and finishes on Friday, July 3.
The School will take place in the beautiful University town of Udine, located in the North-East of Italy. Its strategic geographic position allows visitors to reach the nearby cities of Trieste and Venice easily, as they are just a few hours away from Udine.
The School is organized in four teaching days with keynote lectures (during the morning) and laboratory sessions (during the afternoon). On Thursday afternoon the AI Contest* takes place: this is a great opportunity for participants to present their solutions in the field of artificial intelligence to industrial partners or Business Angels.
Thursday’s AI Contest is a pitch session about Industrial dataset or business needs. Instructions will be given by email after registration is confirmed.
The last day is reserved for the final exam for those who need credits.
For Students: registration fee is € 200 (VAT excluded). The fee includes access to all courses and free lunches. The accommodation is not included. For those students who need accommodation, a list of affiliated Hotels is available upon request.
The 10 best students, evaluated on the basis of their CVs and scientific white papers, will be relieved from any registration fee and accommodation**; travel expenses will also be reimbursed after the Summer School ends (up to 500€ upon sending the refund request form with the expense receipts attached). Both the CV and the white paper have to be uploaded through the registration form and the white paper must not be longer than 3 pages.
For companies or any other person: registration fee is € 750 (VAT excluded) for the whole week. The fee includes access to all courses and lunch for each day. Accommodation and dinners are not included.
For companies members of DITEDI cluster ICT, the participation fee is reduced by 15%.
A certificate of participation in the event will be delivered indicating the number of hours of lectures. Exam pass will be included in the certificate.
During the week of the Summer School, an afternoon will be dedicated to visiting the city of Trieste during the week of ESOF2020 Science in the City Festival. You will also have the opportunity to experience local food and traditions.
On Thursday July 2, following the AI Contest, there is going to be a party with all the participants of the Summer School.
