2022 was a year of\u00a0consolidation\u00a0<\/b>and\u00a0growth<\/b>\u00a0for\u00a0IP4FVG<\/b>, the regional Digital Innovation Hub. During the past period of chairmanship of the Steering Committee, I had the pleasure of walking IP4FVG \u2013 which is playing an increasingly\u00a0key role for digitalisation<\/b> \u2013 through a development process geared towards the\u00a0European model of Digital Innovation Hub<\/b>.<\/p>\n
What I mean specifically by consolidation is providing support to the establishment and launch of\u00a070 digital workstreams <\/b>(transformation or matching projects started with businesses), the completion of\u00a085 digital assessments<\/b>, the\u00a0confirmation of hubs<\/b>\u00a0as demonstration facilities with\u00a0235 visits<\/b>\u00a0by businesses or institutions and\u00a0354 visitors<\/b>. The\u00a0Test4Digitalization<\/i><\/b>\u00a0call\u00a0<\/b>should be added to these services. It is designed to fund projects to demo, test and validate digital systems and technologies under real operating conditions on products or processes. These projects are carried out by SMEs with the support of qualified ICT consulting providers, and resulted in\u00a0the submission of 32 applications <\/b>worth more than \u20ac 1 million and\u00a0in 15 projects being funded<\/b>.<\/p>\n
The goal of this effort is to make the research sector and the employment market increasingly interwoven and complementary<\/b>, the mission being to facilitate liaison between those who study new technologies and those who work in the area with a view to creating development and employment. In this connection, support was provided to the region\u2019s Institutes of Higher Technology in the creation of\u00a0two new courses of study <\/b>to meet precise demands from the productive fabric, which require highly specialised professional profiles.<\/p>\n
As for growth, training was delivered through the\u00a0AI-DLDA Summer School <\/b>\u2013 which reached its 5th <\/sup><\/span>edition in 2022 \u2013 where 46 participants<\/b>\u00a0attended, including\u00a017 PhD Students<\/b>\u00a0from Italian universities and\u00a029 businesses<\/b>\u00a0from 6 regional companies, and 7 scholarships<\/b>\u00a0were granted for the 3rd <\/sup><\/span>edition of the 2021\/2022 Intelligence and ICT Master\u2019s at the University of Udine. Thanks to the resources of the European Social Fund,\u00a045 training courses<\/b>\u00a0for businesses and professionals in the form of webinars and 4-hour in-person seminars were launched and attended by 422 participants<\/b>. Through the PCTO – FUTURELAB project,\u00a047 courses<\/b>\u00a0were conducted for 21 high schools with the participation of\u00a0953 students<\/b>. Additional\u00a08 PCTO courses<\/b>\u00a0were delivered \u2013 secondary school educational guidance for 7 high schools, where 136 students <\/b>attended.<\/p>\n Investment in communication was also impressive, with especial reference to the\u00a0social\u00a0and network-related sphere: on YouTube we reached\u00a0250 hours of views<\/b>\u00a0with more than\u00a03 thousand connected users<\/b>, on Facebook we have about\u00a03 thousand followers<\/b>\u00a0and on LinkedIn we have well exceeded the\u00a0one thousand follower barrier<\/b>, with an impressive increase in 2022 alone of about 30%<\/b>.<\/p>\n Unfortunately, 2022 saw the unsuccessful outcome of the \u201cIP4FVG-EDIH<\/b>\u201dproject submitted in February 2022 under the Digital Europe Program (DIGITAL-2021-EDIH-01 call). Therefore, in the second half of 2022, efforts got underway to submit a\u00a0new \u201cIP4FVG EDIH\u201d project proposal<\/b> filed in November 2022 as part of the \u201cEuropean Digital Innovation Hubs\u201d notice – DIGITAL-2022-EDIH03 of the Digital Europe 2021-27 Programme. The results will be disclosed in early 2023. In the new proposal, greater emphasis was placed on the goal of adopting Artificial Intelligence (AI), High Performance Computing (HPC), and Cybersecurity (CS) solutions to\u00a0increase digital skills<\/b>\u00a0and accelerate reliance on the best advanced digital technologies by SMEs and start-ups as well as in\u00a0leading sectors for the Friuli Venezia Giulia economy<\/b>, such as Manufacturing, Agrobiotech, Energy and Environment.<\/p>\n The additional regional resources available in 2022 made it possible to (i) make\u00a0an extraordinary additional investment on the equipment of the IP4FVG hubs<\/b>\u00a0in the region of \u20ac 85,000 and (ii) launch a\u00a0second Test4Digitalization<\/i><\/b>\u00a0call\u00a0<\/b>to fund demo projects, testing and validation of digital systems and technologies under real operating conditions on products or processes carried out by SMEs with the support of qualified ICT consulting providers, with a total budget of\u00a0\u20ac 400,000<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/b> A total of\u00a035 applications<\/b>\u00a0worth about 1.2 million were received.<\/p>\n In conclusion, the year under review proved broadly positive <\/b>in terms of results achieved and I welcome this opportunity to thank those who lent substance and credibility to IP4FVG and the new Chairman for the year 2023,\u00a0Roberto Siagri<\/b>, to whom I had the pleasure of handing over the baton.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" by Ketty Segatti, former chair of the IP4FVG Steering Committee 2022 was a year of\u00a0consolidation\u00a0and\u00a0growth\u00a0for\u00a0IP4FVG, the regional Digital Innovation Hub.
