The issue of digitisation of society and, in particular, of the manufacturing sector has strategic significance both within the national planning of the\u00a0National Recovery and Resilience Plan <\/b>and the European planning related to the\u00a0Horizon Europe <\/b>project.<\/p>\n
Below is an overview of the two most interesting initiatives on the topic to keep an eye on, with invitations\/calls being already activated for such initiatives or will be activated in the coming weeks: the\u00a0DTF<\/b>\u00a0and the\u00a0Digital Europe<\/b>\u00a0programme (we already covered them\u00a0here<\/span><\/a>).<\/p>\n A \u201cDTF – Digital Transition Fund\u201d<\/b> has been established as part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. With a funding of \u20ac 300 million<\/b>, the Fund is tasked with enhancing the National Innovation Fund and aims to\u00a0foster the growth of supply chains, SMEs and start-ups<\/b>\u00a0that carry out innovative projects in the areas related to artificial intelligence, cloud, healthcare, Industry 4.0, cybersecurity, fintech and blockchain.<\/p>\n Over the 2023-2025 three-year period, the Digital Transition Fund will be tasked with selecting investment proposals from\u00a0250 companies <\/b>in accordance with market best practices. Of the entire amount allocated,\u00a040% of the resources<\/b>\u00a0are reserved for (direct and indirect) investments to be made in\u00a0the regions of the South<\/b>.<\/p>\n The Digital Transition Fund is managed by CDP Venture Capital SGR on behalf of the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy.<\/p>\n To learn more,\u00a0<\/b>visit the Digital Transition Fund page<\/b><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n The Europe-wide Digital Europe<\/b><\/span><\/a> programme sets out to\u00a0increase the Union\u2019s core digital capabilities<\/b>\u00a0with a focus on the key areas of artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, advanced computing, data infrastructure, governance and computing, as well as on their deployment and better use in crucial sectors such as energy and environment, manufacturing, agriculture and health.<\/p>\n As part of Digital Europe, the European Union has recently made available two\u00a0Work Programmes<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0covering the 2023-2024 two-year period with a total budget of\u00a0\u20ac 1,284 million <\/b>(\u20ac 909.5 million for Digital Europe and \u20ac 375 million for Cybersecurity, respectively). The\u00a0first calls<\/b>\u00a0for the new Work Programmes will be published during the following\u00a0spring-summer<\/b>\u00a0and will be extended to companies, public administrations and other entities from EU member states, EFTA\/EEA countries and those associated with the Digital Europe program.
